a Georgian Revival in Philips Park

A Foxhall family with an empty lot and a vision of a Georgian-style dream home needed help marrying traditional detailing with their modern lifestyle. In partnership with Bruce A. Rich Associates, Aggregate refined the exterior concept to lend a classic, stately appearance reminiscent of Washington's Embassy Row while working closely with both the client and Palindrome Design to tailor the interior layout to the client's modern-day living needs.

A double height entertainment room with a wood-paneled bar creates an open environment for the owners to host friends and family. A custom curved staircase in the entry hall gives the home an air of grandeur.

A 2-story indoor sports court was placed on the basement level for the couple's two young boys, in addition to an exercise room with a commanding view over the court through a floor-to-ceiling wall of tempered glass. A wine room with custom, steel-frame glass doors houses the couple's growing wine collection, and an expansive dining room plays host to the couple's large dinner parties.

A master suite includes his-and-hers bathrooms - connected by a large glass-paneled shower - in addition to customized closets. Accommodations for a live-in nanny and two laundry rooms on separate levels give this space the flexibility required of busy couple in need of a luxurious 21st century home.

Combining modern layouts and the aesthetics of the Georgian style, this home reflects the truly unique vision of the client and their partnering architects and interior designer.
